Profile Summary

My fabrication knowledge derives from hands on experiences achieved in many years of working for Pittsburgh area fabricators.

In my junior years working in shop as Welder/Fitter and then eventually a Draftsman position beginning in 1981, I was determined to learn all aspects of the metal fabrication industry.

My hands on experience includes:

  • shop fabrication
  • material takeoffs
  • preparation of bills of materials
  • shipping lists
  • development of chutes and hoppers
  • creation of hand sketches for layout of stairs and platforms

I was consistently recognized for my achievements with my shop experience and gradual implementation of the computer and use of spreadsheets. I advanced to Estimator / Purchasing and Sales in 1983, and advanced again to Detailer/ Cad Designer in 1985.

My ongoing career advancement in the metals industry allowed me to take the lead as Project Manager / Project Engineer in 1989. Responsible for generating shop-ready fabrication drawing packages from contract documents. Preparation and application of 3D modeling techniques in AutoCAD & Tekla Structures for visual interpretation, project coordination and job management. Prepared material bills and shipping tickets per job requirements. Determined to achieve the conceptual intent and scope from architect and structural engineers design drawings.

In 1996 I accepted another challenging position as General Manager which entailed working with fabrication shop to expedite product delivery cycle and product quality. Review fabrication drawings for accuracy and completeness prior to release to shop. Oversee detailing departments, including delegation and development of junior detailers. Work with subcontractors and installers to maintain schedules. Effectively multitask, while directly managing the Detailing Department.

A higher position in the organization was in effect, even though my current situation was working directly under the company owners. A great acknowledgement in 1999, I assumed a role in the Metals Division of the company as Operations Manager. Responsibilities included spending extensive time on-site working closely with the United Steel Workers. Always ensuring total project success for all accounts. Directly responsible for start-to-finish management of diverse projects ranging from $100k to over 2 million.

Operated and managed multiple new business start-ups for various owners. Successful in the implementation and completion of several simultaneous projects on an consistent basis. Constantly working with an ‘entrepreneurial’ spirit has contributed to the development & implementation of my own business.

Our emphasis is on 3D modeling techniques and electronic file transfer. Our mission is to expedite projects with assurance of fit up while implementing efficiency of the overall process.
